Yes on Prop 8?
Sigh.
I'm proud to be an American today, but not proud to be a resident of California. We just TOOK AWAY basic human rights from an entire group of people. I am ASHAMED.
This country was founded on equality for all. Not to mention the separation of church and state that allowed freedom of religion to all citizens. I know things weren't perfect at the start, at least with the equality part, but we've come a long damn way.
Although it seems that as far as we've come regarding equality, we've backpedaled in terms of the separation of church and state. The ONLY argument for Prop 8 was a religious based one - "my religion defines marriage as a union between a man and a woman." Well, fuck - my religion says marriage is between two people who love each other. So what business does the state (or the nation) have mandating who can get married and who can't?
And seriously, if your goal was to "save traditional marriage," where are all your props to ban divorce? Because I see that as a bigger threat to traditional marriage than, say, letting two people who love each other exchange vows.
Ugh.
This is why I hate most people.

You took the words right out of my mouth. A very happy day, yet tinged with disappointment.
Also, don't drink at the beach. Because it's FUCKING ILLEGAL.
I know. Bummed about Prop D passing. But slightly less up in arms, because I come from Pennsylvania, where it is illegal to drink anywhere outdoors. Blah.
Though I was totally for Prop 2, it's fucking sad when the state cares more about animal rights then human rights.
